If you are looking for the Freemasons in Solihull, Wythall Lodge No. 5665 meets a few minutes from the town centre, at Knowle Masonic Centre, and would be glad to hear from you. We are a friendly and unpretentious lodge, and enquiries from men in Solihull and the surrounding district are always welcome.
A lodge in Solihull
Wythall Lodge meets at Knowle Masonic Centre, 1621 Warwick Road, Knowle, Solihull B93 9LF, on the third Monday of the month from October to April, December excepted. The lodge is opened at 5.45 pm, and the meeting is followed by dinner together at the festive board—which most members would tell you is half the pleasure of the evening.
Knowle sits at the heart of the Solihull district, easily reached from the town centre, Dorridge, Bentley Heath and the surrounding villages, with parking at the Centre. Whether you live in Solihull itself or in one of the parishes around it, you will find us close at hand.
Who we are
Wythall Lodge was consecrated in 1937 and works under the Provincial Grand Lodge of Worcestershire, within the United Grand Lodge of England. Our members are drawn from Solihull, Birmingham and the villages of north Worcestershire, and they range in age from their twenties to their eighties and come from every walk of life.
Like all regular lodges, we are guided by three principles: Brotherly Love, tolerance and respect for others; Relief, practical charity towards those in need; and Truth, high standards of honesty in public and private life. Beneath the ceremony, a lodge is simply a society of friends.
Joining the Freemasons in Solihull
Becoming a Freemason is more straightforward than many people expect. Any man aged eighteen or over, of good character, who holds a belief in a Supreme Being, may apply—Freemasonry welcomes men of every faith and background. It is not a religion, and the discussion of religion and politics is set aside at our meetings.
You need not wait to be invited; the first move is yours to make. A short email to our Secretary is all that is needed, and we will invite you to meet the members socially, with no obligation on either side. Our companion page on becoming a Freemason sets out the whole process in plain English, and you can read more about the Lodge on our home page.
Charity & good company
Freemasonry is as much about friendship and charity as it is about ceremony. Through the year the Lodge holds dinners, dances and themed evenings for members, families and friends, and raises money for good causes including Acorns Children’s Hospice, the Midlands Air Ambulance, Prostate Cancer UK and the Royal British Legion.
